Event Management will enable students to develop an innovative and multi-skilled approach to planning and coordinating events, as a self-employed entrepreneur or as part of an organisation.

1 Event Planning

Event planning involves identifying the goals and objectives of an event and accordingly planning the requirements required o organize and conduct the event. It covers feasibility study, venue identification and presentation of proposals to clients. Students will engage in event analysis and mock sessions to gain a holistic view on the various aspects of event planning & management.

2 Roles & Responsibilities

Under this area of study, the students will learn about the responsibilities that come as part of an event planner and how best to delegate roles and distribute work to make the event a success. The students undergo projects and assignments where they design an event and also prepare a chart of roles & responsibilities of individual team members.

3 Event Coordination

This module helps students to identify various aspects that need attention in an event. These include developing creative concepts to add character to an event, venue planing and design, identifying requirements related to event production, light & sound, legal, regulatory, etc., right down to the minutest details to ensure that all these things fall in place.

4 Event Marketing

Getting prospects and customers enthused about your upcoming event is the key to making it a huge success. The first step in marketing an event requires identifying your target market. Knowing the demographics of the audience you want to attract helps in determining what types of marketing strategies are the most effective in persuading those people to show up at your event. This subject will cover various advertising tools, online and social media marketing, branding of an event and sponsor participation.

5 Event Budgeting

Accurate budgeting & forecasting of event cost is perhaps the most significant factor in deciding the financial success of an event. Students will be trained to analyse the various aspects of the event and understand the cost associated with each of these. After forecasting the expenses, students will be involved in case studies where they need to analyse the profitability ratio of the event and work out the appropriate pricing to make the event viable and financially successful.

Designed to enable students to learn the skills needed to promote events, the modules coupled together with the practical field training, prepares students to completely manage events as well as create them.
